Three elective medical treatments in Thessaloniki
Thessaloniki is proud to lead the way in medical advancements, offering cutting-edge treatments for severe conditions. Three elective procedures were successfully performed at Ippokratio and AHEPA Thessaloniki hospitals, affiliated with the Aristotle University School of Medicine (AUSoM).
At Ippokratio, a groundbreaking Pulse Field Ablation procedure isolated pulmonary veins and restored sinus rhythm in a patient with a previously degenerated surgical mitral valve. Additionally, a device was implanted to limit blood flow through the coronary sinus, enhancing myocardial blood supply indirectly.
Meanwhile, at AHEPA University Hospital’s 1st Cardiology Department, a successful transcatheter mitral valve implantation (Myval) was performed on a patient with previous catheterization, demonstrating the hospital's expertise in Valve-in-Valve (ViV) procedures.
