Medical breakthrough on lung cancer in Thessaloniki
A patient in Thessaloniki has become the first in Europe to receive a personalized vaccine-like treatment for lung cancer, under the expert supervision of Associate Professor of Molecular Medicine at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, pathologist-oncologist Sophia Baka. This innovative treatment aims to train the immune system to prevent tumor recurrence.
"Personalized vaccine therapy is a milestone in the battle against lung cancer. By tailoring vaccines for each patient, we aim to boost the immune response, leading to better outcomes and improved quality of life," commented Dr. Sophia Baka.
