Our AUSoM brand-new university library opens its doors

The Faculty of Health Sciences at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki proudly unveiled its latest landmark: the new state-of-the-art library. This project is a testament to the faculty’s dedication to enhancing academic resources and fostering an enriching environment for its diverse departments, including Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Pharmacy, and Dentistry.

The library features a central area spanning 500 square meters, situated in the Veterinary Medicine building. Thanks to its innovative rolling-on rails and fixed bookcases, this space boasts an impressive collection capacity of approximately 60,000 volumes. Complementing this is a repository in the Dentistry building, covering 300 square meters and capable of housing around 30,000 volumes in its extensive cabinets. Students and faculty will benefit from two dedicated reading rooms, providing a sum of 150 seats for study and research.

The new library and its reading rooms are set to become vibrant hubs of learning, offering book lending and reading opportunities, hosting specialized seminars, and promoting social interaction among students from all four departments. This initiative enhances the academic infrastructure and strengthens the sense of community within the faculty.

This remarkable project underscores the university’s commitment to academic excellence and growth, providing a modern space where knowledge and ideas can flourish.
