LIFE IN THESSALONIKI

THE CITY

THESSALONIKI, HISTORIC AND MULTICULTURAL CITY AT THE CROSSROAD OF CIVILIZATIONS

"Many stories, one heart". The motto of Thessaloniki aptly expresses the welcoming feeling and the sense of community that surrounds the life in our city. Thessaloniki represents a vibrant, safe, and culturally diverse student hub and as an extra plus, it provides easy access to Europe and the Balkan Peninsula.

Unlike so many cities, Thessaloniki never sleeps! The lights are always on somewhere and you can always find an open convenience store.

There are so many events around the city that when you arrive you might take part at a musical concert, an exhibition, gathering or festive seasonal entertainment event at the Aristotelous Square. Within walking distance you can visit the famous "Olympion" Cinema, whose halls host the lion’s share of the Thessaloniki International Film Festival each November, where you can watch inspired films and even meet and talk to the actors and directors behind the screen.

There are plenty of bars and venues that host live music of all genres, from contemporary rock, pop, jazz and blues to more eastern and the popular Greek bouzouki music. Most of them are in the Ladadika area opposite the port. In Thessaloniki we stay out until the sun rises the following day, until the coffee shops are open, because entertainment really matters to us!

THESSALONIKI’S NIGHTLIFE

Thessaloniki is one of the best places in Greece to
go out at night! This university city has a young population and offers an amazing nightlife.

All week long, you can go out and have a drink in one
of Thessaloniki’s many bars. Ladadika and Valaoritou
are the most well-known districts.

There are many hip bars, night clubs and live music bars: you will always find a place to party all night long!

For a slightly more chic and romantic atmosphere, you should go to the Skyline Bar. It’s located at the top of the OTE tower and offers a very nice 360° view over the whole city thanks to its rotating platform.
